LPs, Reel-To-Reel Tape, & Cassettes Backed Up to CD

If you have old audio recordings on audio cassettes or LP, as well as reel-to-reel audio tapes that you can no longer play because you no longer own that type of equipment, let Foster Video create backup copies on CDs. We can also capture the audio from the following videotape formats: vhs, s-vhs, vhs-c, s-vhs-c, 8mm, HI8, D8, miniDV. If your audio is longer than 80 minutes (the capacity of 700 MB disc) we'll continue the audio on another disc. Prices are for one source, audio cassettes, LP, or reel-to-reel audio tapes. We can also divide the audio into separate tracts. We also can combine different audio sources into one CD, or removed or rearrange part of the audio, or any combination or scenarios.

Three-step Process

We use a three-step process, capturing, editing, and burning to disc. The audio is captured at a higher than CD quality (48,000Hz) and the audio is then divided into the appropriate tracks. At this point the tracks are imported into an authoring program or the files are recompressed to the CD standard (41,000Hz sampling rate). Prices may vary depending on the level of service we provide on a given transfer project. Prices include transfer, 700MB 80 minute CD-R disc, and black on-disc printing, slimline CD case (color printing is extra)

Note: we recommend that you only backup tapes and records that are not commercially available on CD.
New releases of old records albums usually have been digitally remastered and are of better quality than the original
